Okay, so this blogging takes some commitment. Turns out that after driving, driving, driving it’s not the first thing on one’s mind.

4/10/09 – Got a late start from Grand Junction but crossed the mountain with no bad weather. Spent the night in Deer Trail Co near a school with a cold hard wind pounding on us all night. One vision going through my mind, you know the scene, houses, people and farm animals whirling through the sky. It was 1:30 am.
4/11/09 – Departed driving into the wind ( nature’s little joke on my husband and his gas mileage logging) and stopped for a late breakfast in Flagler Co. I have to wonder what it would be like to be visiting from another country, or planet, and run across some of the interesting sites along this stretch of highway. The pink caddy with John and Elvis is in Flagler. Although it was tempting, we resisted the urge to stop for the 5 legged steer, rattlesnakes and baby pigs.
We crossed the state line into KS at noon and spent the night in a WalMart parking lot in Lawrence KS. It is cold and windy.
4/12/09 – Easter Sunday. We had thoughts of finding a church to attend Easter service but it was late and we opted to get on the road again instead. There are plenty of sermons on the radio.
At 6:45 pm we crossed into IL and caught a glimpse of the St Louis Arch. Settled for another Walmart parking lot in Mount Vernon IL @ 9:30 pm. No breaks in the dark cloud and wind that continues to follow us.
4/13/09 – Departed a little before 8 am and crossed into IN at 9:00 am. Weather started out pretty gloomy and rainy but we have stopped (so I could blog) in Louisville KY and it is a little cloudy but really at the peak of Spring. Really pretty.
Plan on spending the night with some friends in Mayslick KY before heading to the Airstream factory tomorrow…stay tuned.

  3. Today you'll be touring the historical area around Front Royal visiting with Carson and Brenda. The river is beautiful and I really enjoy all that goes on in a lovely small town like that, so close to the huge city life of D.C.
At the Boita home, the center of attention: Mika and Cali; will be happy to see company. They would have had fun playing with Lenny, but Lenny is doing fabulous here at home. He loves the walks we take and does not want me to get lost anywhere in the house or yard so keeps a constant vigil over me. He's really a good listener and does whatever he's asked right away... at least so far.
All plants are still alive thanks to Jacob's excellent care. Sprinkling system is coming on, working fine. All is well. No worries back home.
